Religious Studies Department

What is Religious Studies?

In religious studies we seek to understand the way religion functions in people’s lives. We examine how the Bible and other Sacred texts are interpreted, how theological questions are asked, and how virtuous lives are formed. You don’t need to be religious yourself to study religion, but you do need critical thinking skills, research skills, imagination, and empathy.
