Sister Jean Cecile Hunt was an icon at Siena Heights College (now, Siena Heights University) from 1974 until 1990. As an academic advisor in the General Studies Division, Sister Jean always greeted students with a smile and a very caring and optimistic attitude and looked for their best attributes. Sister Jean went beyond just scheduling classes. She asked probing questions and empowered students to think outside the box as well as to become self-advocates. She was persistent and collaborative when it came to Siena students and sought ways to make certain that their needs were being met. Sister Jean Cecile passed away in 1999. Her memory and dedication to the students of Siena Heights University will live on with this recognition in her honor.
