Early Childhood Education /Child Development is a comprehensive curriculum that covers the typical and atypical growth, learning and development of children, birth through age 8. The program offers a balance of educational theory and practical experience to ensure teacher candidates graduate career ready. 

The program is aligned to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Michigan Department of Education Teacher Preparation Standards to ensure the highest quality education.

Early Childhood Education- Birth through Kindergarten is offered as a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree, a two-year Associate of Arts degree and Teacher Education certification in Early Childhood Education (B-K grade band). Candidates may also pursue institute training to earn a Montessori credential through the Montessori Children’s House adjacent to the Adrian campus.
