Crisis Response Team Information
Introduction
The University has an established Crisis Response Team (CRT) that may be called together to develop and manage the institution’s response to a crisis. The CRT is a multidisciplinary team of professionals from Siena Heights University committed to providing services to students and members of the University community in times of crisis or Emergency.
Mission
It is the mission of the Crisis Response Team to ensure, to the maximum extent possible, the safety of individuals, in the event of an emergency or disaster. Siena Heights University seeks to respond to every emergency in a competent, purposeful and ethical manner.
The University’s goals when a crisis occurs are:
- Life safety
- Protect physical and financial assets of the University
- Provide an organized, systematic, but flexible approach to dealing with tragedy.
- Provide support to those of the Siena Heights University community when a crisis occurs
- Acknowledge a death and affirm the life of the survivors.
- Reflect on the significance of the loss or the crisis to the community.
- Allow university representatives to make a response to the immediate family and friends.
- Provide follow-up resources for survivors as needed.
- Designate a spokesperson to communicate with the media.
