Mission and Vision Statements
Mission Statement of Siena Heights University
The mission of Siena Heights, a Catholic university founded and sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, is to assist people to become more competent, purposeful, and ethical through a teaching and learning environment which respects the dignity of all.
The Mission for Graduate Studies at SHU
The graduate programs support the mission of Siena Heights University by fostering the personal and professional living of a purposeful, competent, and ethical life.
Graduate students demonstrate these life and academic skills through high-level Leadership practices, such as listening, collaboration, research, and service. We practice inclusion by gathering and affirming a diversity of ideas and values.
The act of “service” is prevalent in Graduate course content, discussions, and assignments.
Graduate education is an integral part of Siena Global’s mission: to assist people to become more competent, purposeful, and ethical. The Graduate College challenges individuals to identify, refine, and achieve their personal goals, and to articulate a personal philosophy of life, all in the context of the mission of the Graduate College: integrating theory into practice.
