Student Government

The Student Government of Siena Heights University strives to be the voice and advocate of the student body. The Student Government shall act as the liaison between Siena Heights University administrators, faculty, staff, students, and campus organizations. In a collaborative effort with the University, Student Government shall promote a model of citizenship that encourages students to be more competent, purposeful, and ethical through a teaching and learning environment that respects the dignity of all.

What have we been up to?

What does Student Government do?

  1. Work in collaboration with students, staff, administration, and campus organizations to create change on campus that students desire.
  2. Hold Townhall meetings: Get feedback from students about the positives of campus and how to better positively change the campus.
  3. Hold allocation meetings: Approve event funds for campus organizations.​

How do you get involved?

  1. Make the Student Government aware of issues on campus.
  2. Give suggestions on to improve the campus, activities, communication, etc. 
  3. Run to become a Senator or be on the E-board.

Hello, my name is Mercedes Starr and I am the student government president. I am always excited to participate around campus and can be found at almost any student engagement event.  Fun fact, I have been on two study abroad trips and I am looking forward to my third! Hey! My name is Rolando, and I’m your student government vice president. I am a nursing major and am a part of the wrestling and lacrosse teams, Association of United Latinos/as, SSS TRIO Mentor, and a McNair Scholar. Audrey Couturier
Year: Senior
Major: Biology

Hi there! My name is Audrey, and I’m your student government treasurer. I am a biology major and a chemistry and psychology minor. My goal is to help women with an increased risk of breast cancer. Fun fact: I spend a week in the summer on a remote island where there is no running water or electricity. Hi! I am Paige Westergaard and this year’s student government historian. When not involved with student gov, I am a part of the women’s bowling team, a McNair Academy scholar, and a RA.
